Sometimes you take your neighbor a bunch of chives and come back with a handful of lilacs…
… and you put them in a vase, take pictures of them, smell them, place them on your kitchen table, and remind yourself of the good in the world and how grateful you are for wonderful neighbors!
Wishing you all a lovely weekend!

Aren’t you so glad you waited for them? Now you have lilacs and ours have all gone by. But I can almost smell them through the screen.
Yes! They are lovely and always make coming and going from the trail an extra special treat!
There really is nothing like the smell of lilacs. Love that I can open our back window and their scent comes through! So glad you got to have some of those lilacs for yourself – she has quite a bit of them and they are so beautiful. Brightens any mood. 🙂 xx
How nice to have them out the window, Tam! While I love the ones across the road, I think I need to plant some here (next to a window)!
So pretty!!
They are. It was not until I photographed them that I noticed all of the color variations within them!
the neighbors gave us some of their onions and we gave them a jar of chive-blossom vinegar. none of it smelled as good as the lilacs, but sweet all the same.
Ha! Sweet just the same! What a great exchange!
